Gabriel H. Brandeis, M.D., C.M.D.

Dr. Brandeis studied at the University of Pennsylvania and after college worked as a high school science teacher in the area. He subsequently attended the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse , N.Y. He then moved to Boston for Geriatric Fellowship training at the Division on Aging at Harvard University . He then joined Boston University Geriatric Services where he remains as an Associate Professor of Medicine. In addition, he is a Certified Medical Director (CMD) for long-term care through the American Medical Directors Association. Dr. Brandeis has been associated with Marina Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and its predecessor, Neponset Circle Nursing Home, for more than ten years.

Mark Ostrem, M.D.

Dr. Mark Ostrem is an internist and geriatrician who serves as Subacute Medical Director. He has practiced primary care and geriatric medicine in the community since 1979.  He's a graduate of the University of Minnestota Medical School; his post-graduate medical training was at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is director of Ambulatory Medicine at Caritas Carney Hospital and serves as an associate clinical professor in medicine at the Tufts University School of Medicine. He particularly values the collaborative care and teamwork that are required for successful rehabilitation and functional recovery of the aged patient.
